Angel Orensanz received this past Saturday the annual award given by the Solera Aragonesa cultural association, recognizing his prestige and international projection as a sculptor. The award also distinguishes Orensanz’s contribution to promote the culture and arts of Aragón all over the world.

The presentation of the award will take place at an anniversary dinner organized by said association, tomorrow at 9pm at a hotel in the Spanish city of Zaragoza.

Currently one of the venues of the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg (Russia) is hosting a retrospective exhibition of Orensanz (Larues, 1951), a summary of twenty years of work by this New York-based Aragonese artist.

A total of three rooms hold the exhibition “Angel Orensanz: Instant Sculpture”, which includes installations, drawings, video and large-sized photographs.

A resident of New York city since 1986, Orensanz is the author of a wide range of artwork, exhibited in museums and open spaces in different countries all over the world. Among the awards he has received we can mention the Alexander Pushkin Scuplture Award from the Charles Oulmont Foundation (France), which the artist received in 2005.
